Dr. Stacey fox

"I am originally from Manalapan, New Jersey.  I graduated with honors from Wesleyan University with a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior, then, after spending two years in Boston doing pediatric psychopharmacology clinical research, I went on to attend medical school at The University of Pennsylvania and completed Pediatrics residency at Nemours/A. I. duPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington, DE.  After spending a few years in private practice, I was an attending in the Emergency Department at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and an assistant professor at Drexel University School of Medicine, during which I also taught Bioethics to Drexel medical students. I joined Beacon Pediatrics in 2014 and absolutely love it here.
My professional interests include early literacy, breastfeeding, early dental care, psychiatric/neuro-developmental disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders. I love being playful with my patients while thoroughly addressing their concerns.  I strongly believe in shared decision-making with my patients and their families, and in the power of educating children and their families to help them make the best choices possible for their health and future.
I am very active in Delaware’s pediatric community; since 2020 I have been the Secretary of the Delaware chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Chair of the DEAAP Early Literacy Committee.  I am proud to have started the Reach Out and Read program at Beacon Pediatrics as well as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library First Book Program at Beebe Medical Center.  I am now working with the committee to expand these programs to other practices and hospitals around the state.  In addition, I am on the Delaware Newborn Screening Program Advisory Panel.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my two amazing children and two fuzzy cats, doing all sorts of crafts (especially pottery), and enjoying nature."
