"I was born in Littleton, Colorado but spent the majority of my childhood in Northern Virginia. I am the youngest of three girls and was quite the ‘mother hen’ of the group. Growing up, I often asked my mother for a baby sibling well into her non-childbearing years. Looking back, the strong connection I had with children was always apparent. Although I wasn’t aware at the time, I truly believe I was destined to work with children. However, if you asked me what I wanted to be at the time I would have said “a singer or Miss America”. I’m a terrible singer but one can dream. In hindsight, I hit the career jackpot!

I got my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Shortly after graduating, I started my nursing career as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Inova Fairfax hospital. Although it was an honor to be a part of such a high-volume unit helping bring over 10,000 babies into the world, I knew it wasn’t my ultimate calling. Months and years would pass and I would often wonder about the children I helped deliver. I came to the quick realization that I wanted to pursue my education to deliver care beyond birth and into childhood.

After I received my Master’s and became certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I began my career at a community health center on the eastern shore of Maryland providing primary care to underserved children. In July 2021, I relocated to Frankford, DE with my husband, baby boy and two incredible stepchildren after my husband’s recent career change from Fire/Rescue to a farmhand for a local farm. Our relocation made my position here at Beacon Pediatrics possible and ultimately made our dreams come true. We now live on our own little slice of farm heaven with an array of animals. Never in a million years would I think we would have cows right outside of our bedroom window- yet, here we are! Although I enjoy the farm life, I will always be a city girl at heart. In my free time, I enjoy staying active, going to the beach and most of all- being around the people I love. I’m an avid believer that if you love your job, you won’t work a day in your life. My passion for pediatrics grows every day and I consider myself extremely lucky that I found my true calling early in life. I’m thankful for the opportunity to provide quality care to your children and I’m looking forward to seeing you in the office!"
